World of the 27 Kingdoms

Mythic beings created by First Elements and fey folk formed by Ancient Gods struggle to survive in a world promised to humans by their own gods, the Deivim.

After years of war, destruction, and genocide, a treaty was forged between the twenty-seven strongest kingdoms across the globe. Created to preserve peace and prevent such horrors from happening again, the 27 Kingdoms Treaty has been transformed into a set of laws, customs, and practices used to manipulate resources and political influence. As the treaty kingdoms have fallen in number, new world powers arise and long-standing rulers fight to keep dominance. With advancements in magic and science, a return of great wars has cataclysmic consequences.

A new danger grows and foments in space where kingdoms, cultures, and peoples have split; it widens the divides and burns any bridges that might lead to peaceful unity. This danger threatens all beings, mortal and Divine.

Demons, one of the oldest sapiosentient beings created by the First Elements, siblings to the mythic dragon, unicorn, chimera, and phoenix, were once banished to a watery prison realm for nearly destroying the world with their trickery and chaos. But they were never forgotten. The stories told of them—myths and fairytales—have worn paths back into the world of living mortals.

And they’ve created their greatest trick yet: If they can get the mortal races to worship demons, to declare war against all who refuse that faith, they can become the new gods ruling over what remains.

It will take some unorthodox heroes who are clever, compassionate, brave, and tenacious to stop the demons—and their deities must have faith in them. But can these heroes find faith in themselves?
