Holy Sh*t! I’m Gonna Be a Mom!

In the most difficult but fruitful times, I’ve found a successful parenting journey lies in something simple—profound, yet simple.

And trust me, I need simple!

A simple recipe, you could say. The best kind of recipe—the kind you can adapt to your family’s needs and tastes.

But like figuring out any other recipe, it’s going to take a few “Holy Shit!” moments.

Patti Giuliano, an accomplished Doctor of Chiropractic for forty-two years (she started practice at age ten, obviously) and a devoted mother of two thirty-something children, has spent decades navigating the parenting journey—hers and hundreds of families’ in her practice—with curiosity, humor, and resilience. Where “Dr. Patti” found practicing chiropractic easy, parenting was a daunting challenge. How did other parents make it look so easy? Were they simply not sharing the full story?

In the hope other moms and moms-to-be will find comfort, insight, and a few well-needed laughs, she candidly shares her parenting stories—the good, the challenging, the not-so-great, and the amazing. Her parenting “recipe,” passed down from her Italian grandmother, Isabella Carola, has ingredients to tantalize anyone’s palate. Follow her continuing journey: www.drpattigiuliano.com

There were so many things in this book that related to me even though I had a totally different upbringing… Though I had no children of my own, this book was easy to relate to in so many ways. I also had a Granny (not directly related) who had a wonderful recipe for noodle pudding. I could not duplicate hers, but I created my own and passed it on to other family members who were unable to duplicate my formula even with a detailed recipe. I am looking forward to sending this book out to so many of my friends who need to hear this story.

Not Just For Moms…

As the father of 4 home-birthed, homeschooled, free spirit children of my own, I can tell you Dr. Patti’s book is a breath of fresh air. It is unapologetically authentic and, well, just plain real. I remember after the birth of our first child, my wife turned to me and said, “I feel like everyone lied to me.” This book doesn’t lie to you. It’s raw and it tells it to you like it is. Starting a family is crazy, challenging, and messy, and also transformational, empowering, and beautiful. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Enjoy!
